❤️ Bringing Comfort to a Community Close to our Sun Prairie Hearts ❤️

Recently Sun Prairie, Wisconsin was devastated by a gas leak and explosion that destroyed The Barr House Tavern establishment in the downtown area and affected many local businesses and homes. The fire took the life of Cory, 34 - who was a firefighter Captain at Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department and owned The Barr House Tavern with his wife. Cory leaves behind wife Abby and two 3 year-old twin daughters.

After reading the Madison.com article about Cory and his service to the community, I reached out to his church to find a way that our family business that has roots in Sun Prairie can somehow help.

Our Legler family has loved ones who reside in Sun Prairie as Jack and Bailey's dad Brian grew up in this city outside of Madison with brothers Scott and Barry. The Barr family lived down the street from his childhood home, owned by Randy and Nancy. As neighbors and community members, our family wants to get involved in honoring this great man.

As a business, we always feel compelled to DO SOMETHING when we see our friends, family and customers impacted and somehow bring comfort to those in need with our Learning Lovey blankets. We saw the GoFundMe set up for the Barr Family and were inspired to continue to Give Back in Cory's name to the Sun Prairie Fire Department. This is why the Fire Lovey was created. It honors those that protect and serve and put forth their lives for our communities but a gift for kids on rescue rides who will use it as a keepsake and remember the faces that saved them.

This one hits home for us all at Team Baby Jack and our hearts are heavy. It has affected our customers, team, retailers local and most of all our family. My brother in law Barry recently posted:
"This is absolutely heartbreaking what happened in my home town, Sun Prairie. The Barrs grew up and still live down the street from my parents, such amazing people. Awful loss. Thoughts and prayers for the Barr family, his wife and children. Watching the updates and seeing the community help out, what an amazing place I'm from, makes me so proud."

We hope you Spread Kindness and donate a Fire Rescue Lovey or Police Lovey and sponsor a child and Give Back with Baby Jack and WE WILL MATCH ALL DONATIONS. Our Legler family will be personally dropping them off (follow our FB page for pictures) at the Sun Prairie Fire Department, Sun Prairie Police Department and have connected with Pastor Steve at Bethlehem Lutheran in Sun Prairie to ensure that Corey's daughters receive one as well. Donate here!
